goes fashion
Back in the early ’80s,”He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” was born. He-Man was pure adolescent fantasy where the power of good always prevailed, girls were kind of icky, and you always had guys to watch your back in times of need. Twenty years on, the nordic gym rat looks buffer and more righteous than ever. Adrian Riemann did 16 Redesigns (hand-drawn on A3) of famous Masters of the Universe-characters, dressed up somewhere in the indie/hipster/fashion-scene. Adrian, who describes himself as a fashion-nerd, transferred the boys and girls from Eternia into today, like if they were doing a photoshooting for some magazine. No more harnesses and g-strings. We totally dig that shit!

but also beautiful
I just stumbled upon the artist Taylor McKimens from Brooklyn, New York. His paintings could be described as grotesque, but also beautiful.
“Taylor McKimens was born in 1976 and raised in the small desert town of Winterhaven, Arizona near the Mexican border. After graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, McKimens first exhibited his work in the Rich Jacobs curated MOVE shows at New Image Art Gallery in Los Angeles where he also had his first solo show in 2001. Since then he has completed two solo exhibitions at Clementine Gallery, and has exhibited at Deitch Projects-NY, Annet Gelink-Amsterdam, Perugi Arte Contemporeana-Padova, Italy, among others.”
Acne & Andreas Larsson
Acne denim has released this beautifully shot film created by photographer Andreas Larsson to show off the winter collection. Doing video lookbooks is rapidly becoming standard part of a collection’s release programme. A trend we like!
Can I move in, please?!
There’s no reason why one should work in this building designed by Dasic Architects. Just some little accessoires and maybe a touch of colour and it could be a nice space to live. But there’s a snag to it, it’s located in Shinbashi,Tokyo.

Alexander McQueen

The Daily Mail is reporting shocking news: Alexander McQueen committed suicide. A source at McQueen’s office confirmed the suicide, saying, “It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.” McQueen, who was discovered by Isabella Blow, was extremely close to the fashion editor. Blow killed herself in 2007. His death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was due to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9. Another huge talent taken too soon. RIP Alexander McQueen – the fashion world will undoubtedly miss your artistic vision.
Return for Lost Classic

If you don’t have any plans for tomorrow night tune in to Arte at 8.30 pm for the first release of the restored silent film “Metropolis“. 83 years after the premiere only a shortened version was circulating but then in 2008 long-lost film reels with about 30 minutes of missing sequences were rediscovered in Buenos Aires. This uncut “Metropolis” had been sent to Argentina in 1928 and had ended up in a private collector’s archive. With the help of old notes, this classic got recut and restored in terms of the original version of Fritz Lang and Thea von Harbou. One of the most important works in cinematic history is to be shown in a complete uncut version at the opening of the Berlinale at Friedrichstadt Palast and Arte will broadcast live.
